Who is responsible for your information

Juricue controls how the personal information described in this policy is handled. Questions and rights requests can be sent to [email protected].

Information we collect

Searching and filtering the directory happens in your own browser, so what you type into the search and filter tools is not sent to us.

If you accept optional analytics, Google Analytics 4 records the pages you view, general information your browser sends (such as approximate location, device and browser type, and the site that referred you), and two specific actions: when you click through to a law firm's own website and when you open a firm's Google Maps listing. Those two events record only which firm it was and the domain of the link clicked. We do not send anything you type into the directory's search and filter tools to Google Analytics.

Law-firm information

Juricue compiles professional information from public sources, including law-firm websites, public business and professional records, and public review platforms. This can include a firm's name, contact details, office address, practice areas, and public ratings. Profiles can also show the names, titles, and photos of a firm's attorneys and staff, exactly as the firm publishes them on its own website, and short excerpts of public Google reviews with the reviewer's first name and last initial. Anyone named on a profile can ask us to remove their name, photo, or review excerpt by emailing [email protected]. We use this information to operate and maintain a public law-firm research directory.

Professional information is reviewed before publication and can be corrected, updated, or removed. A firm or reader can contact [email protected] with an objection or correction request.

Contact and connection requests

When you submit Juricue's contact form, we receive the information you chose to include, such as your name, email address, phone number, state, legal issue, preferred firm, and message. If direct submission is unavailable and you choose the email fallback, the information is sent only after you review and send it from your email application.

Cloudflare Turnstile evaluates technical signals when you open or submit the form to distinguish legitimate requests from automated abuse. Juricue processes the client IP address and verification metadata returned for the request, including whether the check passed, its action, and its hostname. Juricue does not use Turnstile for advertising.

We use connection-request information to respond, understand what kind of legal help you are seeking, identify a potentially relevant firm, and facilitate an introduction when appropriate. We do not send contact-form content to Google Analytics.

Why we process information

• Consent: optional Google Analytics measurement is used only after you accept analytics.
• Legitimate interests: public professional information is used to operate, correct, secure, and improve a factual law-firm directory, while respecting correction, objection, and removal requests.
• Responding to requests: information in an email is used to answer the sender, help identify a relevant law firm, facilitate a requested connection, investigate a correction, or take requested pre-contractual steps.
• Legal obligations: limited information can be retained or disclosed where required by applicable law.

Service providers and international transfers

Cloudflare provides website hosting, delivery, and security. Resend processes contact-form submissions for email delivery. Google provides Google Analytics, when accepted, and Google Workspace email. These providers can process technical or contact information on Juricue's behalf and can process information outside Portugal or the European Economic Area under their applicable transfer safeguards and service terms.

Law firm profiles show a map of the firm's office. When you scroll to the map, your browser loads the map code from cdnjs, a Cloudflare service, and the map images from OpenStreetMap's servers. Like any website request, these share your IP address and basic browser details with those services. The map sets no cookies, and we do not send OpenStreetMap or cdnjs anything else about you, such as what you search for or anything you type. How long we keep information

• Google Analytics event and user data is configured for 14 months.
• Correction and contact emails are normally kept for up to 24 months after the request is resolved, unless they are needed longer for an active dispute or legal obligation.
• Public professional information is kept while a profile remains in the directory. Source and correction records can be retained for up to 24 months after removal where needed to document the change and avoid republishing known errors.
• Your analytics preference is stored only in your browser until you change it or clear browser storage.

Third-party links

Firm profile pages link out to the firm's own website. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any site we link to. Review that site's own privacy policy before sharing information with it.

Cookies

Google Analytics and its cookies are blocked until you accept analytics. Advertising storage and personalization remain disabled. Declining analytics (Customize, then Save choices with Analytics off) does not affect the directory.

On law firm profiles, we keep one small note in your browser's session storage so the "Need legal help?" contact form opens by itself only once per visit. It holds no personal information, never leaves your browser, and is deleted when you close the tab.

You can change your choice at any time with the Privacy settings control in the footer. Withdrawing consent prevents future Analytics loading and removes Juricue's Google Analytics cookies from your browser. You can also use your browser settings, an ad blocker, or Google's opt-out add-on.

Your rights

Depending on the law that applies, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of personal information, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

Send a request to [email protected]. We may need enough information to confirm your identity and locate the relevant record. You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados or another competent supervisory authority.
